5 Simple Strategies To Catch A Bird
Usually, pets are considered a non-destructive nature. The main problem of the birds which enter the house is they will leave their droppings inside the house, also the noise that can accompany the growth of the baby birds into fledging.
When the birds enter the house they get confused due to the unfamiliar territory. So catching the bird will be more challenging because the bird is already in a panic mood or frightened and tries to hide from the hunters. It is important to create strategies to guide the birds to exit from the house.
1. Keep calm and patience
It is normal to feel agitated while seeing a bird inside the house. Some birds may damage the properties of the house by chewing or sitting on it. But you need to keep calm and rescue the bird in a way that doesn’t harm them. Some birds move quickly from one place to another and it will be difficult to catch them. So consider the situation and perform according to it.
2. Eliminate the danger of the surroundings
Eliminate the immediate danger that harms the bird. Take steps quickly and quietly, so that does not frighten or create stress in birds. Time is the key factor to consider. Hold your patience, especially when the birds will not stay in one place for a long time. When the bird is trapped inside the house, you can make tricks to set the bird free such as;
- Turn off all the running fans in the rooms to avoid the bird stuck in the blades or getting tangled with the fan.
- Cover the glass windows that make the birds confused. If they see one, they may fly into the glass and may get hurt themselves. To prevent this cover the glass with curtains, cardboard, or any items that help to block the reflection from the window.
- The lost bird can enter the kitchen and get hurt with active cooking vessels or any working appliances. If you are cooking and a bird enter the kitchen, you can resume the work until the bird flies away. Cover the food from birds because the birds can make it inedible.
3. Use a net to trap the bird
Using a fine-mesh net is often the best and safest method to catch the bird from the house. Gently cover the bird with a net and be careful not to crush the bird’s head, legs or wings with the loop. Once the bird is trapped in the net, still hold the bird inside the net and use your hands to extract the bird from the net without hurting them. You can use other materials such as a towel, blankets, sweaters, or jackets instead of a net.
4. Keep food items in the visibility of the bird
Once the bird identifies the food item, it tends to come toward it and start to collect them. At that time slowly move towards the bird and catch them carefully. If it flies away listening to the sound or by movement, stay for some time and repeat the process. Offer them the food that is their favorite such as fruits, vegetables, grains, and water.
5. Use bright light beams
After turning all the lights off and creating a dark environment, spot them with bright light beams so that they move from their place and settle in another place from where you can catch them easily.
After all, birds are too sensitive and if they are not handled with care chances of hurting them are high. The main factor to keep in mind is the patience and keeping calm. The bird will not get easier, they move from one place to another in a quick motion. So consider the size and nature of the bird and practice tricks to block the bird from flying indoors.
